As animal lovers we know that vacationing with a pet brings a whole other element of excitement to a family vacation. Families consider their pets to be four legged family members. We get that. So it’s no surprise to us that you’d want to bring them along on vacation with you no matter how long you’re staying. Check out these Surfside Beach dog friendly rentals below. Surfside Beach is known as the “family beach” and extends two miles along the coast between Garden City Beach and Myrtle Beach. To protect the cleanliness of the beaches there are some local rules put into place that pet owners must adhere to.

You can bring your dogs to the beach during certain times of the year. No dogs are allowed on any of the town's beach areas from May 15 to September 15. From September 16 to May 14, pet owners may walk their dogs along the beach, but they must be leashed. Owners are responsible for picking up after their dogs and making sure pets are current on their vaccinations.

When traveling with your pets be sure to bring all of the items they’re used to having around them to ensure their comfort. They’ll appreciate having their own bed and favorite toys with them no matter how comfortable the vacation rental is where you’ll be staying. Bring their food dishes, collars and leashes, and the chow and treats they’re used to. Vacation isn’t the time to switch up their food and risk digestive upset. If your pets’ behavior is anything short of stellar when left alone, be sure to bring a crate for them in case you need to go out and leave them behind, if even for a short period of time.

Please be aware that only certain properties are dog friendly. There is a $250 non-refundable fee per pet during a week stay. Please communicate how many dogs will be accompanying you on your vacation to your vacation planner.
